Dozens of animals were rescued from a Fairfield County home following reports of a cruelty incident, police announced.
Chief Robert Kalamaras reported that the Fairfield Police and Animal Control rescued over 80 animals from a home on Churchill Street shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, by members of the Fairfield Fire Department, who were assisting the resident of the home following a medical emergency.
According to Fairfield Police investigators, upon arrival at the scene, officers entered the home and found its interior to be in a state of squalor with animal waste throughout.…

A Fairfield County man was arrested for allegedly attempting to cut a woman's dog's throat when the animal would not stop barking during a domestic dispute.
Edwin Gonzalez, age 30, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Monday, May 31, by Milford Police when they responded to the Mayflower Motel for a domestic violence report.
An investigation found that Gonzalez, who had an active order of protection against him, pushed the victim on a bed during an argument, Milford Police said.

A woman has been arrested for allegedly throwing her dog out a car window as the vehicle was moving in Fairfield County.
Helen Skulski, age 56, of Wilton, turned herself in to Norwalk Police on Friday, March 26 after a warrant was issued for her arrest, said Norwalk Police Sgt Sofia Gulino.
According to Gulino, on Tuesday, March 9, at approximately 2:07 p.m., Norwalk Police received a phone call from a motorist who said she saw a dog being tossed out of a moving vehicle.

CT Woman Arrested After Social Media Videos Show Her Abusing Puppies, Police Say
A Connecticut woman has been released on a $10,000 bond after an arrest for animal cruelty.
Anizya Elliott, of New Haven, was arrested on Sunday, March 21, following an anonymous complaint of puppies being thrown, kicked, and abused in several social media videos, said New Haven Police Captain Anthony Duff.
Duff said officers responded around 8 p.m. to a Sherman Avenue home. After an investigation, officers arrested resident Elliott, who was charged with cruelty to animals.
