Man Punches Person In Face At Popular CT Restaurant, Police Say

A Connecticut man has been charged with alleged assault and breach of peace after punching a customer at a restaurant in the face, injuring them.

The incident took place in New Haven County in Milford on Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Stonebridge Café.

According to Milford Police, officers working at the club were alerted to an assault in the bar area of the restaurant, and security guards were able to point out a man walking down the street as the alleged assailant.

The suspect, identified as Samuel Deangelis, age 25, of Seymour, was detained. 

Witnesses told officers that Deangelis punched the victim in the face. Officers located the victim and he said that he got “blindsided” at the back bar and punched the victim in the face. 

After an investigation, the witness and victim accounts were confirmed. The victim received treatment at an area hospital for a fractured nose and eye socket. 

Deangelis was charged and released on a promise to appear ticket. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
