CT Woman Nabbed In Fatal Hit-Run Crash
Police captured a 45-year-old Connecticut woman for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 47-year-old woman. The incident occurred in New Haven County around 10 p.m., Friday, in the area of Main Street and Boston Avenue in East Haven. East Haven Police said Gina LaVacca, of East Haven, was found suffering from life-threatening injuries and pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a sedan that fled the area. A Connecticut man walking on a city street with a crossbow and a beer was nabbed by patrol officers after receiving numerous 911 calls of a man carrying a rifle. The incident occurred in New Haven County on Wednesday, June 12, around 5 p.m. on Main Street in Meriden. According to Sgt. Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street. As officers arrived, the suspects were seen driving away from the scene. Two alleged shoplifters from Fairfield County were nabbed after they allegedly crashed into three vehicles while fleeing from the cops. The New Haven County incident occurred on Wednesday, May 22 in the city of Milford. The identities have been released of a man and woman along with the charges they are facing after a report of larceny in progress at a Stop & Shop in Fairfield County was followed by a crash.
