Nationwide Meat Recall Expands To 11.7M Pounds: Products Sold At Major Supermarkets A nationwide recall of meat and poultry products over fears they may be contaminated with Listeria has been expanded to include 11,765,285 pounds. The initial recall involving the manufacturer, Bruce Pac, was for 9,986,245 pounds of ready-to-eat (RTE) products sold at Walmart, Target, Amazon, Trader Joe's, 7-Eleven, Aldi, and other stores. It was announced on Wednesday, Oct. 9. CVS To Lay Off Nearly 3K Workers CVS announced it will lay off nearly 3,000 workers as part of a cost-cutting move aimed at saving $2 billion. These approximately 2,900 layoffs, primarily in corporate roles in the company's CVS Health division, represent less than 1 percent of the company's workforce, CVS said.  "The reductions will not impact front-line jobs in our stores, pharmacies and distribution centers,” a CVS spokesperson told CNN. Hartford Police Officer Accused Of 'Slapping' Prisoner In Face While In Hospital, Cops Say A Connecticut police officer was charged with breach of peace after he allegedly slapped a prisoner who was handcuffed to a hospital bed. Hartford Police Officer Marcello Confeiteiro was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 28, and released on a promise to appear.  According to Lt.
