A Connecticut man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for participating in an extensive commercial larceny spree.
Andres Barclett, aka "Coolie", age 27, of Hartford, was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 1, followed by two years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, Acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
This case stems from “Operation American Steal,” a long-term multi-agency investigation into numerous “grab and go” thefts from various retail fashion stores in Connecticut and nearby states," said Boyle.

A former Connecticut property manager has been sentenced for embezzling money from federally-subsidized housing complexes.
New London County resident Alicia Gardner, age 51, of Griswold, was sentenced on Wednesday, Nov. 3, to eight months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Fairfield County Man Sentenced For Tax Evasion
A Fairfield County man has been sentenced for evading paying more than $141,000 in taxes.
Michael Monroe, age 48, of Norwalk, was sentenced on Friday, Oct. 15, to six months in prison and six months of home confinement, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Monroe was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and 90 hours of community service.
Boyle said he was ordered to pay back the taxes of $141,041, plus interest and penalties. He pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion on March 15.

Hartford County resident Michael Ferro, age 35, of Avon, surrendered to law enforcement on Wednesday, Sept. 29, according to Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
As alleged in the complaint, on Wednesday, August 18, Ferro, using the Kik social media application, began chatting in a Kik group with an FBI covert agent who was posing as a father of a 12-year-old girl.
