A controlled burn will be held inside a Connecticut residence that was damaged in a fire because of the large amount of fireworks discovered in the garage and basement, police announced. The Fairfield County residence, located in Shelton at 7 Bruce Dr., was scheduled to be re-burned on Thursday, June 27, according to the Shelton Police Department. A driver was seriously injured after losing control of their vehicle on a highway on-ramp and crashing into a ravine in Connecticut, fire officials said. The crash happened in Fairfield County on Sunday, Dec. 31 just before 11:15 p.m., when a car left the Route 8 northbound Exit 13 on-ramp and plunged into a ravine 300 feet away from the roadway, according to the Shelton Fire Department. A Fairfield County worker was burned during an equipment fire at a business. The incident took place in Shelton around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 16 at 30 Oliver Terrace, said the Shelton Fire Department.
