A 53-year-old Connecticut man will spend the next eight months in prison after he admitted to taking bribes to sell contracts to build, maintain, and repair three colleges in Massachusetts, federal authorities said.
Floyd Young, of the city of Shelton in Fairfield County, pleaded guilty in August 2020 to one count of conspiracy and three counts of bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. He was sentenced on Wednesday, Dec. 20.

Duo Wanted In Shelton Armed Robbery, Assault Nabbed, Police Say
Two men were nabbed in connection with an armed robbery and assault in Fairfield County.
Bridgeport resident Ashan Langston, age 22, and New Haven County resident Jalen Bolton, age 21, of Waterbury, were charged for the Monday, Nov. 27 incident in Shelton.
The arrests stem from an armed robbery and assault that occurred around 5:30 p.m. at the Municipal Parking lot, said Det. Christopher Nugent of the Shelton Police.

A Fairfield County man has been sentenced to prison for defrauding Amazon for almost $750,000.
Oshane Steward, age 31, of Shelton, was sentenced on Tuesday, Sept. 5 to 18 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, said Vanessa Roberts Avery, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
