Double Murder, Kidnapping Case: Newtown Native Gets 55-Year Sentence
A 26-year-old former UConn student has been sentenced to prison for the horrific killings of two men and the kidnapping of a woman.
Fairfield County native Peter Manfredonia, age 26, who grew up in Newtown, who currently has an address in Tolland County in Mansfield, was sentenced on Wednesday, April 19 to 55 years in prison in a 2020 murder and kidnapping case under a plea agreement, according to NBC Connecticut.
Manfredonia admitted to killing 62-year-old Ted DeMers, in Willington on Friday, May 22, 2020, officials said in an arrest warrant.

Bridgeport Man Who Stripped Teen Naked, Shot Him Mulitple Times Sentenced
A Bridgeport man who had been on the run for more than five years has been sentenced for the brutal 2017 murder of a teen.
Jahmari Cooper, age 23, of Bridgeport, was sentenced Wednesday, April 12 to 45 years in prison for the October 11, 2017 gunshot murder of Jeri Kollock, Jr., age 18, in the Green Homes Housing Project in Bridgeport, said Fairfield Judicial District State’s Attorney Joseph Corradino.
Cooper was found guilty of the murder in February by a jury.
In addition to the 45-year prison sentence, the judge sentenced Cooper to 10 years of special parole.

Drug Murder: Two CT Felons Charged In Brutal 2012 Slaying, Feds Say
Federal officials have charged two men currently serving prison terms for other crimes with kidnapping and killing a Connecticut man in 2012, authorities said.
Melkuan Scott, age 32, and Arthur Stanley, age 33, both formerly of Hartford, were indicted in February on charges of kidnapping resulting in death and causing death with a firearm, the US Attorney for Connecticut announced on Tuesday, April 11. They have both pleaded not guilty.
