CT Motorcyclist Killed In Route 72 Crash; Police Seeking Witnesses A 40-year-old man from Connecticut was killed in a motorcycle crash earlier this weekend when he slammed into the back of a vehicle, authorities said. Jhonatan Jiron, of Bristol, died on Saturday, April 19, after his Harley-Davidson collided with the rear of a Mazda that was slowing down to turn on Route 72 in Harwinton, according to Connecticut State Police. The Mazda was turning onto East Church Road around 2 p.m. when the crash occurred. The driver of the sedan was uninjured, but Jiron suffered fatal injuries. The collision took place on I-95 northbound just north of Exit 91 in New London County around 11:50 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 in Stonington. According to Connecticut State Police, a 22-year-old man was driving a Mazda CX-5 on the left of two lanes when he struck the back of a Honda Civic that was stopped for traffic congestion, sending the Honda off the right side of the road and into a ditch. New Haven County resident Jacqueline Sheppard, age 58, of Waterbury, was killed around 8:40 p.m., Monday, Sept. 27, during a multiple-vehicle crash on Route 8 in Waterbury in which an SUV fled the scene.
