Storm Bringing Snow, Wintry Mix Leads To School Closures, Could Cause Hazardous Travel
A new winter storm system arriving from west to east on Wednesday morning, March 9 has led to numerous school closures and could cause hazardous travel at times during the day into the early evening. Some roads can become slushy and slippery and a few inches can accumulate in grassy areas, on cars and other elevated surfaces, according to AccuWeather. Separate Tractor-Trailer Crashes Cause I-95 Closures
Two separate tractor-trailer crashes have caused closures on I-95 in Fairfield County amid the treacherous travel conditions following the arrival of a strong winter storm. The first crash took place around 7:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 7 on I-95 southbound at the Exit 30 off-ramp in Stratford, due to a tractor-trailer down an embankment.
