Poll: Crime Numbers Down In Bridgeport, Do You Feel Safer? The Bridgeport Police Department has reported that overall crime statistics throughout Connecticut's most-populated city have been on a decline in comparison to this time last year.  The most notable statistical decrease can be found in shooting incidents throughout Bridgeport, said Mayor Joe Ganim. MoneyGeek’s annual report on the safest small cities and towns in the US has released its 2023 data, and Connecticut’s own Greenwich has earned the tenth place spot.
