A 27-year-old Connecticut woman is accused of ripping off a Fairfield County family for more than $35,000 in stolen items and money illegally charged on their credit card, authorities said.
Fairfield County resident Brigid Stanley, of Stamford, is charged with first-degree theft, illegal taking of a payment card, spending more than $500 on a revoked payment card, first-degree identity theft, and third-degree forgery, her arrest report shows.

A man has been arrested after he stole a car from a Connecticut residence and later used the owner’s credit cards at a rest stop, police said.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18 in Fairfield County, 18-year-old Robert Barbera was arrested by Darien Police officers in the city of Stamford, the department reported.
Barbera’s arrest comes months after his alleged actions in August 2023. Officers put out a warrant for his arrest just two weeks prior to his being taken into custody.

An employee at a gas station was charged with larceny and other charges after allegedly stealing credit card information from a customer in Fairfield County and making purchases.
Ahmed Rajput, age 26, of Stamford, was arrested on Monday, June 26 by Greenwich Police on a warrant, said Lt. Ted Latiak, of the Greenwich Police.
According to Latiak, in April, Rajput worked at the Citco gas station, located at 392 Post Rd, in Greenwich where he allegedly stole a customer's credit card and used it to make a number of fraudulent purchases.

A Stamford teen has been charged with allegedly severely injuring a woman during a robbery as she was leaving work.
Roberto Carlos Herrera-Aleman, age 18, was charged on Thursday, Jan. 26, with robbery in connection with the Wednesday, Jan. 11 incident in the area of 201 Broad St., near Ferguson Library, said Stamford Assistant Police Chief Richard Conklin.

A former United States Postal Service employee from Connecticut has pleaded guilty to a charge related to stealing USPS funds.
Lindim Asipi, age 44, of Waterbury, pleaded guilty on Monday, Dec. 20, to one count of wire fraud related to his theft of USPS funds, according to an announcement from Leonard Boyle, acting US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Asipi worked as a driver for the USPS in Waterbury, and the USPS gave him a fleet credit card for gas, Boyle said.

A Connecticut man has been charged for allegedly using credit cards stolen from an SUV in March.
Devontay Shabazz, age 20, of Ansonia, in New Haven County, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 15, on a warrant after police found that he was already in jail.
The incident took place in Darien earlier this year when the victim discovered that at some point during the overnight, someone had entered their 2017 Chevrolet SUV, said Sgt. James Palmieri of the Darien Police.
