70+ Dead Animals Found Inside Vacant CT Home: Report More than 70 dead animals were found inside a vacant Connecticut home on Wednesday morning, Jan. 29, according to authorities. Authorities said they found the animals inside a home on River Street in Old Saybrook. A call to Old Saybrook police was not immediately returned.  The animals were a menagerie of rabbits, chickens, opossums, cats, a dove, and a skunk, among others, police said in a release. 42 Cats Rescued From CT Home In 'Deplorable Condition' Dozens of cats were rescued from a home during an operation that involved several agencies after the home's resident let animal control officials inside. The incident took place in New Haven County around 10:30 a.m., Monday, May 15, on Hawkins Street in Derby, according to Derby Mayor Richard Dziekan. House Full Of Neglected Animals Deemed Unhabitable In Fairfield A Fairfield home has been deemed uninhabitable after police and animal control found 25 dogs and 22 cats malnourished and living in feces and urine. The discovery took place during the week of Tuesday, April 17 when a concerned citizen contacted police about a dog that was found roaming in the Steep Hill Road area of Fairfield, said Lt.
