A late-night traffic stop in Connecticut led to the arrest of a local man after police found a stolen firearm, ammunition, and marijuana packaged for sale in his vehicle, police said. At approximately 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, Bristol officers were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Pine Street when police stopped Shawn Rodriguez, of Bristol, for a headlight violation, Lt. A Connecticut man who works as a police sergeant in Rhode Island was found dead at a town hall in Windham County this week after having been reported missing, Daily Voice has learned. Scituate (Rhode Island) Police Sgt. Jason Riquier, 47, was discovered in a vehicle at the Sterling Town Hall on Monday, Jan. 13, law enforcement sources familiar with the incident confirmed. Police have identified the man who died following an explosion and fire at his Connecticut home over the weekend. Thomas Cianciola, 56, of Waterbury, died on Sunday, Jan. 12, after an explosion at his 220 Horseshoe Drive home, authorities said on Tuesday. A routine stop for speeding turned into jail time for the driver after police said she was intoxicated with her 9-year-old child inside.
