'Horrific' Sex Assault: Vernon Couple Convicted Of Abusing 2 Minors, 1 Adult Related To Them A Connecticut couple convicted of sexually abusing a trio of relatives — two of them kids — will spend years behind bars, authorities announced.  Former Tolland County residents Carlos Rivera and Taina Rivera, both age 43, of Vernon, were sentenced to 20 years a piece in prison in what prosecutors called a series of "horrific" assaults, the Connecticut Department of Justice said.  The abuse lasted for years for the two underage victims, authorities, the prosecutor said.  The two minor victims were 13 when the abuse began, authorities said.
