Two people are facing charges after a 3-year-old was left in an idling vehicle that was stolen from a Connecticut gas station parking lot this week, including the child's mother, police said.
Hainef Ramon Baker, 28, of Norwich, allegedly stole a Volkswagon parked outside a Valero gas station in Willimantic on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 4, authorities said. Police later found the child unharmed and arrested Baker in Preston. He now faces multiple charges, including second-degree kidnapping, robbery by carjacking, and risk of injury to a minor.

Wanted Man Lured Child Into His Truck Outside Of Park, Sexually Assaulted Her: Police
Police say a Connecticut man kidnapped a child younger than 13 from a New Haven playground and sexually assaulted her in his truck.
Michael Dewitt, age 45, of Seymour, faces multiple felonies from the alleged incident and is being held on a $1.25 million bond, Waterbury Police said.
The girl told police that she was playing at Fulton Park on Wednesday, Oct. 9, around 7 p.m. when a man, later identified as Dewitt, lured her into his truck, where he sexually assaulted her, authorities said. The girl fought her way free and ran to get help.

A 22-year-old man accused of luring a victim into the woods, where they beat, sexually assaulted, and burned them, was ordered held on a $1 million bond, authorities said. Two 17-year-old boys are accused of helping him.
Avante Ryan, 22, of Hartford, faces more than a dozen felonies for the alleged attack that happened in New Haven County on Sunday, Sept. 1, Branford police said on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Suicidal CT Man Who Wanted Police To 'Kill Him,' Injures Officers During Arrest, Cops Say
A Connecticut man who was allegedly suicidal and wanted to be killed by police was taken into custody after fighting and injuring several officers.
The incident occurred in New Haven County in Hamden on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Hamden Plaza.
According to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police, the department received word that the East Haven Police were trying to locate and arrest Derrick Gilliam, age 29, of New Haven.
East Haven police said that Gilliam, who was wanted on domestic violence charges, was suicidal and "wanted to be killed by police," Quinn said.
