2 CT Women Who Died After Being Swept Away By Flood Waters Identified By Police Two Connecticut women who died after being swept away by floodwaters in separate incidents have been identified. According to the National Weather Service, the incidents occurred in New Haven County around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, on Route 67 in Oxford, which received more than 10 inches of rain. According to Connecticut State Police Cpl. Daniel Loughman, the women were in vehicles stuck in floodwaters that washed away their cars from the Little River. Commercial Truck Stopped In Danbury Was 100,000 Pounds Overweight, Police Say An oversized load on a commercial truck was nabbed in Fairfield County for allegedly being more than 100,000 overweight. The truck was stopped in Danbury by Connecticut State Police conducting commercial vehicle enforcement on I-84 around 7 a.m., Wednesday, July 10. According to State Police, the truck was stopped after it was seen bypassing the Danbury scale along I-84 eastbound by traveling the secondary roads in the area.  An investigation revealed that the truck had numerous oversized load permit violations.
