Litchfield County Kennel Owner Facing Animal Cruelty Charges A Connecticut kennel owner turned herself in to police earlier this week after being charged with animal cruelty, authorities said.  Litchfield County resident Jennifer Ornelli, age 47, of Bethlehem, was ordered held on a $10,000 bond on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Connecticut State Police said.  Ornelli runs the Home Away From Home kennel in Bethlehem. 'Deplorable Conditions': 103 Animals Rescued From CT Home, Owner Charged With Cruelty A Connecticut home was described as a house of horrors for the more than 100 animals that were trapped inside and with limited access to food, water, and clean air, authorities said. The conditions were so bad that veterinarians had to euthanize four of the dogs that were rescued because they were so sick.  Windham County resident Tracy Donovan, age 59, of Woodstock, was arrested on Wednesday, Aug. 21, and charged with 103 counts of animal cruelty, Connecticut State Police said.
