Fentanyl, Heroin Seized In Drug Raid Of Ex-Con's Waterbury Home Where Child Was Present: Cops
A convicted felon with an extensive criminal history is back in custody following a drug raid at a Waterbury apartment that police said turned up crack cocaine, heroin/fentanyl, and more.
Jonathan Pabon-Reyes, 33, was arrested on Jan. 17, 2025, when officers from multiple law enforcement units executed a search and seizure warrant at 461 West Main Street, Apartment #8, police said.
Units involved included the Waterbury Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit, Crime Prevention Unit, Gang Task Force, Connecticut State Police Violent Crime Task Force, and Auto Theft Unit.

A high-speed police chase that spanned several Connecticut towns on Sunday, Dec. 29, ended with two people in custody, Connecticut State Police said.
The incident began when Newington police responded to an armed robbery at Lowe's on the Berlin Turnpike just after 8:20 a.m., according to Newington police. The suspects, later identified as Scott A. 22-Year-Old Killed, 32-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition Following Crash
A 22-year-old Connecticut man was killed and another was hospitalized after a late-night crash in New Haven County, authorities said.
Jayden Gonzalez, of Waterbury, was killed after his car collided with another at the intersection of Baldwin and Lounsbury Streets around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, authorities said.
Paramedics rushed them both to an area hospital, where Gonzalez died of his wounds. The 32-year-old unnamed Waterbury man, who was in the other car, remains in critical but stable condition, police said.

Woman Who Fatally Hit Cyclist Then Sped Away Arrested: Police
A woman who police say crashed into a bicyclist, causing him fatal injuries, and sped away in New Haven County has been arrested weeks later.
Gloria Sanchez, 32, of Waterbury, was charged Thursday with evading responsibility in a death, criminal misrepresentation, and failure to renew registration, authorities said.
Investigators said Sanchez crashed into 37-year-old Luis Caceras, of Waterbury, around 6 a.m. at the Cooke Street and Grove Street intersection and then drove away.
After an investigation, police arrested Sanchez earlier this week.

Police say a Connecticut man kidnapped a child younger than 13 from a New Haven playground and sexually assaulted her in his truck.
Michael Dewitt, age 45, of Seymour, faces multiple felonies from the alleged incident and is being held on a $1.25 million bond, Waterbury Police said.
The girl told police that she was playing at Fulton Park on Wednesday, Oct. 9, around 7 p.m. when a man, later identified as Dewitt, lured her into his truck, where he sexually assaulted her, authorities said. The girl fought her way free and ran to get help.
