'Mechanical Malfunction' Sends CT Teen To Hospital After Crashing Bike Into Car A 15-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after a crash involving a car in Connecticut earlier this week, police said. The teen was riding a bicycle along Church Street near Morse Street in Putnam around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, when it veered off the sidewalk and crashed into a 2020 Toyota Camry following a "mechanical malfunction," police said. CT US Marine, 68, ID'd As Victim Killed By Car While Walking On Highway Authorities have identified the pedestrian killed while walking along Route 44 this weekend as 68-year-old Leo Blain of Putnam, Connecticut. Blain was struck by a Ford Fusion around 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Paramedics transported him to Day Kimball Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
