Kelly Desnoyers, 56, was charged with 35 counts of animal cruelty. Nicole Desnoyers, 22, also of Sterling, faces 40 counts, according to the Connecticut State Police. Police responded on Feb. 13 after a concerned resident requested a welfare check, believing the Desnoyers were hoarding animals. Woman Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Sterling Crash A 78-year-old woman was seriously injured after an SUV crashed into her on Monday afternoon, April 1, authorities said.  The Oneco woman was walking on Plainfield Pike (Route 14) in Sterling when the Ford Explorer crashed into them around 12:15 p.m. Paramedics airlifted her to Rhode Island Hospital with life-threatening injuries, Connecticut State Police said. Moosup Man Pulled From Burning Car After Crash In Sterling Dies at Hospital A 42-year-old Connecticut man was killed on Wednesday evening, Feb. 19, when he lost control of his sedan and slammed into a utility pole in Windham County, authorities said. Michael Ryan Theriault, of Moosup, was behind the wheel of a Nissan Altima heading south on Ekonk Hill Road (Route 49) in Sterling around 5:30 p.m. when his car left the road and hit the utility pole, Connecticut State Police said.
