A fast‑rising “Super Flu” wave is pushing illnesses and hospitalizations higher nationwide, and a new CDC map shows where activity is most intense.
In the week ending Saturday, Dec. 20, the CDC estimated 7.5 million flu illnesses, up from 4.6 million the prior week, a jump of more than 60 percent.
