CT Community Mourns Worker Killed On Job: ‘Genuinely The Best Guy I’ve Ever Met’ Jamie Nickerson was a doting father of two, a loving husband, a caring friend, and a dedicated public servant with endless compassion, friends and family said. The 51-year-old Enfield Department of Public Works employee was killed Friday, Sept. 12, after a car crashed into him as he worked near town hall. The driver was also seriously hurt. Police are investigating the crash. He leaves behind two sons and a wife of 20 years.
