Police ID Man Hit, Killed While Walking On CT Road A 49-year-old Colchester man was hit and killed as he walked along a Connecticut highway at night.  Shawn Schulze was walking west on Route 354 in Colchester around 1 a.m. on Friday, May 2, when he was hit by a car driving in the same direction, Connecticut State Police said.  Schulze was wearing dark clothing and was in an area of the road that had no lights, police said. Driver Killed Friend In 100MPH+ CT Police Chase; Charged With His Death: Cops A 20-year-old Connecticut man has been charged with killing his teenage friend after losing control of his car at speeds over 100 mph during a police chase that ended in a crash into an embankment earlier this year, authorities said. Michael Cream, of Norwich, is charged with second-degree manslaughter, engaging in a police pursuit, reckless driving, and other traffic infractions, according to Connecticut State Police. 7-Year-Old Killed In House Fire A 7-year-old child was killed after they were trapped inside a burning home in New London County Tuesday evening, Oct. 15, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to a home at 83 Summit Street in Norwich just before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a two-story house fire. Multiple 911 calls said a child was trapped inside.  Norwich firefighters were quick to the scene and battled their way inside the burning home and were able to carry the 7-year-old outside, where paramedics were waiting to take the child to Backus Hospital while performing lifesaving measures, authorities said. …

Motorcyclist Killed In Early Morning Crash After Losing Control Of His Bike A 42-year-old Connecticut man was killed in a single-vehicle, early morning crash after he lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and crashed, authorities said.  Michael Ryan Austin, of Yantic in New London County, was found a little after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, in a wooded area off of Bishop Road in Bozrah — about 5 miles west of Norwich, Connecticut State Police said.  Investigators believe Austin failed to navigate a right-hand curve which sent him into the oncoming lane, where he hit a rocky embankment and crashed into a wooded area.  Paramedics rushed h…

3 Police Officers Attacked In Separate CT Incidents Three Connecticut officers were attacked over the weekend in two separate incidents. The attacks occurred on Saturday, June 29, in New Haven County in West Haven and New London County in Norwich.  In West Haven, one officer was injured when Imran Ahmed, age 54, of West Haven, allegedly deliberately crashed his vehicle into an occupied police cruiser that was helping another officer who Ahmed had been trying to run off the roadway.
