Tony’s Chocolonely is recalling two of its popular chocolate bars because they may contain small stones that made it into the product during almond harvesting and processing.
The voluntary recall, announced Wednesday, April 2, affects seven lots of the brand’s 6.35-ounce Dark Chocolate Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar.
The products were distributed nationwide at retail stores and through the company’s website between Friday, Feb. 7, and Monday, March 24.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 12 complaints were reported by consumers outside the United States and Canada who found stones in the affected bars. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers are advised not to eat the recalled chocolate. Instead, they should return it to the place of purchase for a refund or dispose of it safely. Full details on the affected lot codes and refund process can be found at tonyschocolonely.com.
No other Tony’s products are affected by the recall.
The company is based in New York City.
