Bondi's Island Landfill Fire To Burn For Two More Days - Flames Under Control The fire at the landfill by Bondi’s Island in Agawam continues to burn and most likely will continue to smolder into the weekend, fire officials said. The landfill fire at the wastewater treatment plant off Route 5, has been burning since Thursday, Oct. 15, afternoon. Among the items burning are large trees, brush, and other yard debris.
