Hartford County residents Amjid Khan, age 38, and Sher Ali Khan, age 51, both from New Britain, were arrested on Monday, Jan. 29 in connection with a home invasion in the New Haven County town of Naugatuck, Naugatuck Police announced on Thursday, Feb. 1.

A Connecticut man has been charged after he allegedly repeatedly stalked a woman for months while she drove to and from work, police announced.
New Haven County resident Nicholas Perugini III, age 53, of Waterbury, was arrested on Thursday, June 8 at around 1 a.m. for his alleged role in the stalking of a woman that spanned several months, according to Connecticut State Police.
On Wednesday, May 10 at approximately 11:40 p.m., police were first notified of the man’s behavior.

One Killed After Drunk Driver Crashes Into Truck On I-84, CT State Police Say
One person was killed after a man driving drunk slammed into a stopped truck on a stretch of I-84, according to Connecticut State Police.
The three-vehicle crash happened in New Haven County at around 7:50 a.m. Friday, Mach 18 on the westbound side near Exit 16 in Southbury.
At the time of the crash, state police say two trucks were pulled over, one with a flat tire, and the other a tow truck.

Two Connection men were busted for allegedly operating a mobile drug factory following a traffic stop that netted hundreds of pills, cocaine, pot, and packaging materials.
New Haven County residents Tyler Murtishi, age 20, of Waterbury, and Mark Oladapo, age 19, of New Haven, were arrested on Friday, May 14 by Naugatuck Police following a traffic stop on the Old Waterbury Turnpike, said the Naugatuck PD.

I-84 Traffic Stop Nets 5 Kilos Of Cocaine, Three Arrests
Three people were busted with more than five kilos of cocaine during a traffic stop in Connecticut.
The bust took place around 2:37 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 22, when troopers stopped a Honda Ridgeline for speeding on I-84 westbound in Middlebury, said the Connecticut State Police.
During the stop, troopers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and as a result, uncovered 5.66 kilos of cocaine partially concealed in the backseat, state police said.

CT Man Nabbed For $37K Theft Of Jewelry, Watches
A Connecticut man was arrested on a warrant for allegedly stealing more than $37,000 worth of watches and jewelry from a home he had been hired to move items from.
Devonte Williams, age 28, of Waterbury, was arrested at Waterbury Superior Court by New Canaan Police for the event that took place in March 2020, said Lt. Jason Ferraro.
An investigation found that Williams, an employee of a moving company hired to move items out of the residence, was the prime suspect in the theft, Ferraro said.
Williams was charged with larceny and held on a $25,000 bond.
Extreme Tree-Hugger Accused Of 'Humping' Nature In Stranger's Backyard
Police arrested a man accused of “humping trees” in a stranger’s backyard.
On Nov. 12 at around 3 p.m., Naugatuck Police responded to a report of an “unknown male in a backyard, half-dressed, humping trees, screaming, and eating branches,” police said.
When police arrived on the scene, High Street, the suspect allegedly ran into a nearby home causing the residents to flee, police said. The suspect came out of the home and was arrested, police said.

Convicted Rapist Who Lived In CT Failed To Register As Sex Offender, Feds Say
A convicted rapist who was illegally living in Connecticut waived his right to be indicted and pleaded guilty in Fairfield County for failing to register as a sex offender.
Lester B. Joy, 40, formerly of Waterbury, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Nov. 3, to failing to register as a sex offender, said John H. Durham, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in October 2002, Joy was convicted in the State of New Jersey of sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and theft.
For those offenses, he was sentenced …
