Fairfield County Man Killed In I-91 Crash, State Police Say A Fairfield County man was killed in a crash on I-91 south after hitting the rear of a commercial vehicle and losing control, authorities said. Jeremy Bischoff, age 34, of Shelton, was killed early Monday, June 27 in New Haven County in Wallingford. Bischoff was driving a 2016 Kia Soul in the center lane on I-91 southbound around 2 a.m. when he hit the back of a commercial vehicle and lost control, said the Connecticut State Police. On-Duty CT State Trooper Involved In Crash An on-duty Connecticut State trooper was found at fault after being involved in a crash with another vehicle. The crash took place in New Haven County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, May 17 in Milford near Anderson and Merwin avenues when the trooper allegedly "failed to obey a traffic signal," said Officer MariLisa Anania, of the Milford Police. The trooper, who was not named, suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, Anania said. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. The trooper was found at fault in the crash, Anania said.

CT Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash A Connecticut man was killed after his vehicle traveled off the roadway hitting a utility pole and a mailbox. Windham County resident Michael Steele, age 40, of the Town of Brooklyn, was killed around 7 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26 on Wauregan Road in Brooklyn, said the Connecticut State Police. An investigation revealed that Steele, who was traveling southbound on Wauregan Road, traveled off the roadway at which time he struck a tree and telephone pole causing the vehicle to roll over, state police said. Steele was pronounced dead at the scene.
