Convicted CT Murderer Assaults Doctor, Correction Officer: Police
A Connecticut inmate currently serving life for murder was charged again after he allegedly assaulted correctional officers, including a doctor.
It happened on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Hartford County’s Walker Correctional Institution, located in Suffield.
At approximately 11: 12 a.m., inmate Joe Baltas, age 35, from Meriden in New Haven County, struck a Department of Corrections doctor in the chest and pinned him against the wall, Connecticut State Police reported.
Other staff members rushed to restrain Baltas and he was taken to the restrictive housing unit.

A Connecticut lawyer who allegedly fatally shot his wife on Christmas night before killing himself had been waiting for test results to determine whether he was COVID-19 positive after his wife had tested positive, according to authorities.
Hartford County lawyer, John Liquori, 59, and his wife, Cindy Liquori, 55, were found dead after the Windsor Locks Police Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting around 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 25, said Lt. Paul Cherniack.

Vote Finalized In GOP Congressional Primary: Arrested Dropout v. Servicemember
It took one week to decipher if a man who dropped out of the race for Connecticut's 2nd Congressional District, had won the nomination anyway.
The race came down to a hand count of the votes and Justin Anderson, 49, of East Haddam, came out ahead.
Anderson beat Thomas Gilmer for the Republican nomination by 81 votes. The final vote was 9,483 - 9,402.
