Snowfall Projections Increase Again: Much Of Region Could Now See Between 18-24 Inches
The major Nor'easter taking aim on the region may wind up being one for the books. The latest snowfall projections, released late Sunday afternoon, Jan. 31 by the National Weather Service, indicate parts of the area could see as much as two feet of snowfall. A large swath of accumulations of 18 to 24 inches of snowfall is now expected from overnight Sunday to throughout the day Monday, Feb. 1 into early Tuesday, Feb. 2 expected across all of New York City, the lower Hudson Valley, much of Nassau County, portions of southwest Connecticut, and Northeast New Jersey. First Projected Snowfall Totals Released For New Storm That Will Sweep Through Region
An active weather pattern that has marked the arrival of 2021 will soon include a new storm system that is now expected to bring accumulating snowfall to much of the region. The time frame for the storm is Sunday afternoon and Sunday night, Jan. 3 into early Monday morning, Jan. 4. Some areas north of I-287 in New York and the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut could see several inches of accumulation. Sacred Heart University Gets $245K Grant To Improve Teaching For Autistic Children
Sacred Heart University received a $245,841 grant from the U.S. Department of Education toward the improvement of their literacy programs for autistic youth, according to the office of Congressman Jim Himes. “Autistic children can face numerous unique challenges when learning how to read and write,” said Himes. “Training educators on how to teach reading and writing to autistic children will change students’ lives.
