Man Charged In Westport Smash-Grab Jewelry Store Robbery A Fairfield County man has been charged in connection with a smash-and-grab robbery in which the thieves made off with an unknown quantity of jewels. On Wednesday, May 29, Westport Police arrested 30-year-old Bridgeport resident Javon Thorbourne in connection with the case on Thursday, May 9, at the Lux, Bond, and Green at 136 Main St.  According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, on the date of the robbery, employees of the store reported two individuals wearing masks and gloves entered the store with sledgehammers and began smashing display cases.…

Police Investigating Smash-Grab Burglary At CT Shop Police in Connecticut are investigating after a popular smoke shop was heavily damaged by a smash-and-grab robber. The incident took place in Hartford County around 4:20 a.m., Monday, Feb. 26 at the Land Smoke Shop at 722 West Street in Southington. According to Lt. Keith Egan of the Southington Police, a vehicle with several people inside drove into the building, causing significant damage, looted the inside of the building, and then fled.
