Beloved Hudson Valley Mother Of 3 Dies At Age 50
A Hudson Valley mother of three has died at the age of 50.
Dutchess County resident Jennifer J. Strang-Thrasher, of Wassaic, died on Sunday, February 4, at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.
Strang-Thrasher, born in Connecticut in the town of Sharon in Litchfield County, was a graduate of Dover High School and Dutchess Community College.
She was a direct care worker at Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, for 30 years, according to her obituary.

A powerful storm packed with damaging winds has knocked out power to more than 100,000 across Connecticut.
As of around 7:45 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, Eversource is reporting 97,652, with United Illuminating reporting another 3,447.

Former Supervisor At Reader's Digest In Westchester Dies At Age 63
A man who worked at Reader's Digest in Westchester County for decades has died at the age of 63.
Dutchess County resident Robert Riley-Brown, of Wappingers Falls, died at New York Presbyterian Milstein Heart Center on Saturday, Aug. 20, according to his obituary.
He was born in the Litchfield County town of Sharon, Connecticut.
According to his obituary, Riley-Brown worked as a supervisor at the Global Data Center at Reader's Digest in Pleasantville for 27 years, and he later worked at IBM in Poughkeepsie, his obituary said.

State Police Searching For CT Bank Robber, Asking Motorists To Avoid Area
State Police are asking the public to avoid certain roadways in the area as they search for an alleged bank robber.
The robbery took place in Litchfield County around 12:35 p.m., Monday, Aug. 2, at the Salisbury Bank located at 5 Gay St., in Sharon, state police said.
The suspect, who is believed to be a white male, wearing blue jeans and a blue sweater, fled the scene on foot.
Police are asking motorists to avoid the area between Route 41, Route 4, and Hill Top Road as troopers search for the suspect.

About 95 percent of Connecticut is in the red for COVID-19.
All but 9 Connecticut communities are at the highest risk level for COVID-19 infections, according to the most recently released data.
Waterbury has the highest incident rate in the state with 98.6 cases reported per 100,000 residents.
On Thursday, Dec. 3, Connecticut updated its weekly, town-by-town breakdown of case rates per 100,000 people. There are 170 out of 179 Connecticut communities at the highest level of risk for infection.
