Police Break Up Large Fight Involving 60-Plus Teens At Connecticut Business Police broke up a large fight involving more than 60 teenagers at a Connecticut Park over the weekend.  The incident took place around 9 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, when Hamden Police responded to Funz Trampoline Park, 1245 Dixwell Ave., in Hamden, on the report of a “fight in progress." Officers encountered “40 to 60” teenagers that were involved in a dispute, standing in front of the building, said Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith. Covid-19: Cafe Liquor License In Jeopardy After Alleged, 200-Guest Party A cafe owner is facing the permanent loss of her license to operate and serve alcohol after the establishment hosted a private party for nearly 200 people. On Wednesday, Dec. 9, the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection sent a summary suspension order to Cafe Studio 1537, which is located at 1537 Dixwell Ave. in Hamden. Studio 1537, as it is often called, received a cease and desist order from the local board of health on Monday, Dec. 7, for a party the cafe hosted on Friday, Dec. 4. The cafe’s liquor license was also suspended and could be revoked, according to the summary order. …

More Than 30 Animals Rescued From 'Inhabitable' Home Animal control officers saved more than 30 animals from a single “inhabitable” Connecticut home. On Monday, Oct. 26, six area animal control divisions teamed up to conduct a search and seizure warrant at 200 Blue Hills Ave., in Hamden. Officers rescued 26 cats, 6 dogs, 2 caged squirrels, and an owl. They found four deceased animals: a dog, two cats, and a woodchuck, Hamden Police said. Upon entering the residence, police said officials were confronted by two large rats.
