A trio was discovered to be running a shoplifting ring across the state after police caught them attempting to steal food from a Connecticut Stop & Shop. The Fairfield County incident took place on Monday, April 29 in Darien. A 24-year-old man was apprehended in New York after allegedly using counterfeit bills at a Connecticut Stop & Shop supermarket, police said. Three suspects are wanted after allegedly loading up shopping carts at a Fairfield County supermarket with merchandise and fleeing the store without paying, police said.
