New Info Released: Shooting Of CT 20-Year-Old Who Tried Entering Wrong Home Deemed Justifiable Officials in South Carolina have deemed the shooting death of a Connecticut college student justifiable after he attempted to enter the wrong home. New Haven County resident Nick Donofrio, age 20, of Madison, was found dead having suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body, on the front porch of a home in Columbia, South Carolina on the 500 block of South Holly Street around 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, the city's police department said. Nicholas Donofrio's LinkedIn profile says he was a junior studying exercise science, and transferred to the university in 2022, after playing basketball as a freshman for the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Here Comes Elsa: Tropical Storm Will Bring Heavy Rain, Gusty Winds To Region Tropical Storm Watches have been upgraded to Tropical Storm Warnings along parts of the East Coast as Elsa treks toward the Northeast. It will arrive in this region starting overnight Thursday, July 8, and bring tropical-storm conditions to portions of New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts, mainly along and near the coast, into Friday, July 9. The storm will be out of the area by around midday Friday. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, including the possibility of flash flooding, though the fast-forward movement of the storm is expected to prevent widespread flooding. …
