A Fairfield County woman has been charged with alleged larceny after cashing a lost MoneyGram while using her name and address.
Valentina Dimitia-Coatanroch, age 51, of Stratford, was arrested by Westport Police on Sunday, Jan. 21.
According to Lt. Eric Woods of the Westport Police, on Friday, March 6, 2020, Westport Police initiated a larceny investigation after a resident reported they had lost a MoneyGram they had purchased in the amount of $550.00.

A teenager, who had just turned 18, was arrested after police allegedly found him stopped on a highway ramp in Connecticut, his car facing the wrong way.
The Hartford County incident happened in the city of Hartford on Sunday, Dec. 31 at around 4:30 a.m.
Alex Ortiz, who turned 18 earlier in the month, was allegedly found by police in a 2012 gray Honda Accord stopped on a ramp on Interstate 84 near Exit 50.

A Connecticut accountant faces larceny charges after stealing $25,000 from one of his clients, police announced.
Carl Anderson, who owns Anderson Accounting and Finance LLC, was arrested in Litchfield County by New Milford Police on Friday, Dec. 22 following a lengthy investigation, the department announced on Wednesday, Dec. 27.
The investigation, conducted by New Milford Police, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Connecticut Department of Banking, determined that Anderson stole $25,000 from one of his clients, according to authorities.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a break-in at a Connecticut business that left its owner out thousands of dollars.
Marcos Scott, of New Haven, surrendered to Greenwich Police on an open warrant Tuesday, Dec. 19, in connection with the alleged burglary.
Investigators said Scott and another person broke into the Mohegan Vape Shop and Cigar, located on East Putnam Avenue, on Tuesday, July 18.
The owner told police that between the stolen and damaged property, the break-in cost them $13,700.

25-Year-Old Nanny Admits Stealing $25K In Items From Stamford Family
A nanny has been charged with larceny after she allegedly stole expensive items from her employer in Fairfield County.
Maria Fermin, age 25, of Stamford, was charged on Monday, Dec. 4 after the family began noticing missing items from their home, said Capt. Tom Scanlon of the Stamford Pollice.
The family first noticed an expensive camera lens missing, then a tennis bracelet, a purse, and $15,000 cash, Scanlon said.
The family suspected Fermin because they observed Meta photos where Fermin was wearing items identical to the ones they were missing.

Man Accused Of Trying To Cash Forged Checks At Bank In Wilton
A 48-year-old man was captured after a months-long investigation into identity theft and larceny at a Fairfield County bank.
James Greco, of Wynantskill, New York, located in Rensselaer County, was charged on Tuesday, Nov. 21 on a warrant for the July incident at a Wilton bank.
According to Lt. Anna Tornello, of the Wilton Police, Greco entered the bank and forged checks in the victim’s name, and then deposited the cash into other accounts.
