A man has been charged in connection to a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of the father of singer/model Nicki Minaj. A teenager was killed in a crash involving two motor vehicles and a bicycle overnight. It happened in Stamford on Friday, Nov. 6 just before 10:30 p.m. The bicyclist, a 19-year-old Stamford resident, was riding his bicycle northbound in the area of 34 Harvard Ave. when he was struck by a 2005 Cadillac being operated by a 46-year-old Bethany resident, Stamford Police said. A Connecticut man accused of a pedestrian-involved hit-and-run almost escaped police capture by diving into the Chicopee River - but all the identifying information he allegedly left at the scene of the crime quickly led to his arrest. A 68-year-old New Haven woman who was struck by at least one car, all of which left the scene of the incident, has been identified by police. Celeste Staten was found lying in the middle of Whalley Avenue, between Davis Street and Anthony Street, after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting the hit-and-run just after 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 27, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Teenager Arrested In Officer Hit-And-Run On I-84
A teen has been arrested in connection with a July incident in which a State Trooper was hit by an allegedly fleeing vehicle. Brooklyn Mahogany Marcano, 18, of Southington, has been charged with interfering with an officer, according to the CT Post. Marcano turned herself in to police on Thursday or Friday, Sept. 24-25. The charge against Marcano stems from a July 19 incident on I-84. Sgt. Timothy Begley had pulled over a motor vehicle allegedly being driven by Jayquan Syale Richardson. Police Search For Suspect After Derby Woman Found Murdered Following Initial Hit-Run Report
An apparent fatal hit-and-run in Connecticut is now being investigated as a homicide, police said. Officers from the Derby Police Department alerted police in Ansonia of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian who was struck at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30 near the intersection of Coe Lane and North Coe Lane. A 22-year-old volunteer firefighter and town constable accused in a fatal hit-and-run Fairfield County may face charges of manslaughter.
