A Fairfield County school district is set to become the latest in the state to ditch masks for students and staff members as Connecticut continues its recovery of the winter COVID-19 surge of fresh infections. Dozens of nursing home residents were among those to receive false-positive reports from COVID-19 tests that were recently administered in Connecticut. Health officials in Connecticut said that upwards of 100 people, many from nursing homes in the state, were given false-positive results for COVID-19 after a “flaw” was discovered in the testing systems used by the state lab.
