Dan Negrelli, of Canton, was an educator at A.I. Prince Technical High School in Hartford, where he taught computer applications and hiking. The 53-year-old was a husband and father. 7-Year-Old Killed In House Fire A 7-year-old child was killed after they were trapped inside a burning home in New London County Tuesday evening, Oct. 15, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to a home at 83 Summit Street in Norwich just before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a two-story house fire. Multiple 911 calls said a child was trapped inside.  Norwich firefighters were quick to the scene and battled their way inside the burning home and were able to carry the 7-year-old outside, where paramedics were waiting to take the child to Backus Hospital while performing lifesaving measures, authorities said. …

Infant Dies After Being Found Unresponsive In Fairfield County, Police Say An infant who was found unresponsive died despite efforts by first responders in Fairfield County. The incident took place in Norwalk around 2:17 p.m., Sunday, July 10. Norwalk communications received a 911 call regarding an unresponsive infant. Immediately, the dispatcher handling the call began providing resuscitation instructions over the phone, said Sgt. Sofia Gulino, of the Norwalk Police. Two Schools Closed In Response To Death Of 7-Year-Old In Fairfield County Murder-Suicide Two Fairfield County schools will be closed on Monday, June 21, following the deaths of a 7-year-old student and her mother. The schools, Coleytown Elementary School, which the child attended, along with Stepping Stones Preschool, which is located inside Coleytown, will be closed Monday in response to the tragedy.
