One Killed, Two Rescued In Two-Alarm Fire At CT Multi-Family Home
One person was killed and two others seriously injured during a fire in a multi-family home in Connecticut.
The New Haven Fire Department received word of the two-alarm fire around 2 a.m., Monday, Jan. 4, at 151 Saltonstall Ave., in New Haven, said the New Haven Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived on the scene they found a large working fire, with three people trapped on the top floor of the three-story building, the department said.
Firefighters were able to safely rescue two of the people using a ladder, but the third person, a woman, did not make it, they added.

Tony Hsieh, the retired CEO of online shoe and clothing retailer Zappos, died at age 46 from injuries sustained in a fire at a Connecticut home.
The blaze broke out on Wednesday, Nov. 18 in New London, and Hsieh died from his injuries on Friday, Nov. 27 at Bridgeport Hospital with his family by his side, according to KLAS 8 News Now in Las Vegas, where Zappos' headquarters is located.
Hsieh retired as Zappos CEO in August 2020 after 21 years. Before joining Zappos, he sold LinkExchange, an Internet advertising network, to Microsoft in 1998 for $265 million.

Authorities have revealed where the massive fire that broke out in the upstate New York home of TV host Rachael Ray began.
The celebrity chef, her husband John Cusimano, her mother Elsa Scuderi, and the family’s dog, Bella Boo, were in their Lake Luzerne house, located in Warren County in the Adirondacks, on Sunday, Aug. 9, when the fire broke. It left the main house on the property with extensive damage.
Ray had been taping her show from the home, located about 60 miles north of Albany, since April due to the COVID-19 outbreak with Cusimano producing and operating the camera.
