Man Screaming For Help Rescued From Drowning By Police Officers In Fairfield County
Two Fairfield County police officers came to the rescue of a man who was screaming for help and drowning after jumping into the Long Island Sound to save his dog. The incident took place in Bridgeport around 8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 18 near the Seaside Park Bathhouse. The officers responded after the department received a 911 call of a person in the water, screaming and possibly drowning, said Scott Appleby, director of Emergency Management for the City of Bridgeport. State police are reporting that a man who was pulled from a Fairfield County lake in cardiac arrest has died from drowning. The victim, Adao Nogueira, age 53, of Danbury, was rescued from Button Island in New Fairfield around 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16. A man was pulled from a popular lake after first responders in Fairfield County were dispatched for a report of a drowning. The incident took place in Brookfield around 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 16, when Brookfield Fire and EMS were dispatched to Blueberry Island for a reported drowning on Candlewood Lake, the department said. A Long Island man drowned after he fell into a swimming pool while shoveling snow from the nor'easter that moved through the region. Southold Town Police said the man was a senior citizen from the Suffolk County hamlet of Cutchogue, in the Town of Southold on the north fork of Long Island, according to the Suffolk Times. CT Teen Drowns At State Park
A Connecticut teen drowned at a state park over the weekend while swimming with friends. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 in New London County at the Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme, said Will Healey, of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. According to Healey, a 19-year-old male was swimming at the beach park when he went underwater and did not resurface.
