CT Kennel Owner Facing Animal Cruelty Charges
A Connecticut kennel owner turned herself in to police earlier this week after being charged with animal cruelty, authorities said. Litchfield County resident Jennifer Ornelli, age 47, of Bethlehem, was ordered held on a $10,000 bond on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Connecticut State Police said. Ornelli runs the Home Away From Home kennel in Bethlehem. In July, a customer filed a complaint with state authorities that their dog had been mistreated and neglected while in Ornelli's care, police said. A Connecticut man was charged with alleged DUI after he was found asleep behind the wheel of a running Jeep at a car dealership, police said. The incident occurred in Fairfield County at H&L Chevrolet at around 3:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 11, in Darien. According to Sgt. Westport Resident Accused Of Harassing Neighbor With Strange Acts
A Fairfield County man was charged with allegedly violating protective orders after leaving a Bible with a knife stuck in it by a neighbor's door and then for performing a burning ritual in the backyard. Westport resident Francis Conklin, age 67, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 8, for the June and July incidents. According to Lt. A moving company employee from Bridgeport is charged with stealing a watch from a woman's Darien home and then pawning it, police said. The original incident happened on Monday, July 25, 2022, when a group of movers was helping a designer lift furniture at the victim's home in Darien. A 37-year-old area woman pleaded guilty to stealing cash and other items from mail while employed as a postal supervisor at the Town of Fairfield Post Office.
