New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the completion of the South Fork Wind project on Thursday, March 14, capping off more than two years of construction that began in February 2022. City Worker Dragged 40 Feet By Car Of Irate Driver In Fairfield County, Police Say A Fairfield County city employee is recovering after being dragged by a car of an irate driver for more than 40 feet down a roadway while performing construction work. The incident took place in Danbury around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26 on King Street. Officers from the Danbury Police Department responded to King Street for a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. Drunk Driver Crashes Into Truck In Construction Zone In Westchester, Police Say A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged DWI after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle in a work zone in Westchester.  Fabian Madera, age 43, of Shelton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, after New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Mamaroneck, said Trooper Tara McCormick. A preliminary investigation revealed that Madera was driving a Toyota Camry northbound, approaching a lane closure in a work zone when he rear-ended a construction vehicle blocking the right lane, McCormick said. Time Is Running Out To Save Route 5/10 Native American Site From New Construction A campaign to stop the construction of a roundabout on suspected Native American land has just one week left to raise objections. In mid-December, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) finished a review of a proposed roundabout construction site at the congested intersection of Routes 5/10 in Northampton. So far, items that have been recovered from the area include a “moderate density of artifacts” including flake and hammerstone.
