Suspicious Item Causes Bomb Scare At Connecticut College A suspicious item along a walkway at Connecticut College caused a bomb scare and students to shelter in place. The incident took place in New London County around 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 1, at the college located on Crozireer Drive in New London. New London police and fire personnel responded to the college after receiving information regarding a "suspicious" item on the walking path between the student center and the Plex, said Capt. 10 Connecticut Colleges Deal With Covid-19 Outbreaks; 1,000 NE Students And Staff Catch Virus COVID-19 outbreaks on New England college campuses have infected more than 1,000 students and *staff since the pandemic began. Connecticut has had 434 cases at 10 schools while neighboring Massachusetts has had 439 cases at 42 schools. As for the rest of New England: Vermont has had 34 cases at 8 schools, New Hampshire has had 68 cases at 6 schools, Maine has had 44 cases at 10 schools, and Rhode Island has had 62 cases at 8 schools, according to a New York Times database.
