'Gone Too Soon': Friends Mourn 23-Year-Old Plainville Man Killed In Motorcycle Crash Loved ones of a Connecticut man killed in a crash on Thursday afternoon, Oct. 24, said he was a caring, funny, and loving young man. Peter Bienasz, of Plainville in Hartford County, was riding behind a Toyota Prius on Route 72 near the I-84 on-ramp, when he crashed into the back of the car, causing him to slam into a metal guardrail around 12:14 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, Connecticut State Police said. Beloved Stratford Police Officer, 56, Dies Unexpectedly Police, family, and friends are mourning the loss of a longtime and much beloved Fairfield County police officer who died unexpectedly.  Stratford Officer Ken Kubel, age 56, died earlier this week. He served with the Bridgeport Police Department for 25 years from 1990 to 2015, retiring with the rank of sergeant, said Capt. Robert Burroughs of the Stratford Police.  Kubel then continued on in his police career by serving another nine years as a Patrol Officer with the Stratford Police Department from 2015 to 2024.
