Man Wanted For $60,000 Jewelry Burglary Nabbed By Police In Fairfield County
A man allegedly involved in a $60,000 jewelry heist from a Fairfield County home has been nabbed by police for failing to appear in court.
Franco Saladrigas-Garcia, 27, of the Bronx, was arrested on Tuesday, Jan. 26, by Westport Police on an outstanding warrant, said Lt. David Wolf.
Saladrigas-Garcia was wanted in connection with a burglary that took place on Saturday, April 11 at 9:52 p.m., police responded to a home on the report of a burglary in which more than $60,000 had been stolen, police said.

Fairfield County Man Facing 125 Burglary Charges Found With Nine Handguns, Crossbow, Police Say
A 30-year-old Fairfield County man arrested in connection with a string of burglaries across New Jersey and New York was found with nine handguns, a crossbow, and a slew of other weapons and contraband following a multi-jurisdictional investigation, authorities said.
Patrick Ryan, of Fairfield, was arrested Sunday morning, Jan. 24 and charged with a total of 74 counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and dozens of other offenses, Hardyston police said in release from the Sussex County Detectives Association.

Father, Son Stole Items From Fairfield County Landscaping Company Numerous Times, Police Say
The father of a man who had already been arrested for allegedly breaking into a commercial company and stealing items has turned himself in to police.
Robert L. Petro, 81, of Waterbury, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 29, after the series of alleged thefts that took place at a landscaping business in Wilton in 2019, said Wilton Police Lt. Gregg Phillipson.
According to Phillipson, Petro, and his son, Michael Petro, 47, of Wolcott, would enter the property of the landscaping business and steal equipment such as leaf blowers, chain saws, and more.

Police have arrested a Connecticut man in connection with a robbery at the Batter up Batting Cages in Hartford County last year.
New Haven County resident Jared Cardillo, 45, of Waterbury, was arrested on a warrant in Hartford County on Wednesday, Dec. 16, by the Southington Police Department.
According to police, on August 26, 2019, officers were dispatched to Batter Up Batting Cages, at 2060 West St. Southington, for an activated security alarm.

A man who stole 14 bicycles worth $11,000 collectively from driveways and open garages in New Canaan was arrested after a multi-agency, multi-month investigation, police said.
Jose R. Velazquez of Bridgeport, 59, allegedly stole the bicycles between Wednesday, June 10 and Sunday, July 19, according to the New Canaan Police Department. A man who allegedly used a sledgehammer to break into a Self Storage facility and set it on fire has been arrested.
On Tuesday, Oct. 6, around 3:30 p.m. Waterbury police arrested Jacen Heslop, 32, of Waterbury, on the charges of first-degree arson, first-degree reckless endangerment, fired egress criminal mischief, second-degree breach of the peace, second-degree threatening, first-degree burglary, and fire degree criminal trespass, according to the Republican American.

Man Admits To Stealing Van At Hospital In NY, Burglarizing CT Post Office
A man moved quickly after being discharged from a Manhattan hospital, stealing a van before breaking into a Fairfield County post office and attempting to steal packages.
Leon Clinedinst, 37, formerly of Ocala, Florida, pleaded guilty this week in Bridgeport Court to one count of burglary of a U.S. post office, and one count of interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle following an incident in January.
