27-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In CT Apartment, Police Say

A 27-year-old woman was found dead inside a Connecticut apartment after police found family members trying to check on a relative.

The incident took place in Hartford County around 4 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 1 in New Britain.

According to New Britain Deputy Police Chief Adam Rembisz, an officer traveling in the area found the young woman unresponsive inside the apartment after learning family members came to 157 Fairview St., trying to check on her.

An Initial investigation revealed that the victim, identified as Moenisha Collins, suffered from apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene, Rembisz said.

New Britain State’s Attorney's office and Connecticut State Police assisted with investigating the incident.

Their efforts led to identifying the suspect identified as Vincent Blair, age 46, of Hartford, Rembisz added.

Blair fled to Pennsylvania where he was arrested and is awaiting extradition.
