Northern Lights Dazzle CT Residents Residents across the Northeast were dazzled by the Northern Lights, visible Thursday evening, Oct. 10. The purple and pink lights were visible due to a Solar Storm, or a Coronal Mass Ejection from the sun on Tuesday, Oct. 8 which arrived in the area Thursday. "I got a text from a friend about 30 minutes ago," said Joe Jenkins, of Poughkeepsie, NY, "so I ran out and looked due north. You couldn’t miss it." 'Beautiful Soul': Family Of Slain Meriden DOT Worker Grieves As Driver Faces More Charges A 55-year-old Connecticut woman accused of crashing into a state Department of Transportation worker while intoxicated now faces more charges linked to the fatal crash this summer, authorities announced on Monday, Sept. 16.  New Haven County resident Denise Lucibello, of East Haven, is now charged with second-degree manslaughter, the New Haven Judicial District State's Attorney Office said.
