Connecticut police announced a major break in a 2-year-old murder case this week after arresting the man they say pulled the trigger and killed a 26-year-old man.
Willie Jamel Thompson, age 47, of New Haven, was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 8, without issue and charged with the murder of Julius Bolden-Lowe, East Haven police said. He was being held on a $2 million bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

After several years of responding to assaults, shootings, stabbings, and a murder at a Connecticut address, police raided the residence and made several arrests.
The incident occurred in New Haven County on Saturday, July 13, at 190 Grove St., in Meriden.
According to Lt. Darrin McKay of the Meriden Police, the purpose of the search was to recover evidence from a recent assault that occurred at the property.
McKay said many of the problems have arisen due to an after-hours event on the second floor of the building.

A man is in custody for allegedly killing an 18-year-old Connecticut man 17 years earlier.
Ramon Smith, age 35, was extradited back to Connecticut from Warren, Maine, on Tuesday, June 4, where he was arrested on a warrant charging him with murder and criminal possession of a firearm in connection with the Sunday, March 25, 2007 death of Joshua McClelland of Hartford.
According to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police, on March 25, 2007, at approximately 6:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim in the area of 250 Blue Hills Avenue.

Police in Fairfield County arrested the first of several anticipated in connection with the shooting deaths of two armed men who robbed an illegal gambling club earlier this year.
Sean Ellam, age 38, of Bridgeport, turned himself in to detectives on Tuesday, May 28, on an active felony warrant for the Saturday, March 30 incident in Bridgeport.
