A Derby man will spend more than 11 years in federal prison for a disturbing child exploitation case — his third conviction involving children — and violations of his supervised release, federal authorities said. A 31-year-old Connecticut man is facing potentially decades in prison after police say they found thousands of images of child sexual abuse material and discussed shared it on social media, authorities said. Burnest Geyer, of Shelton in Fairfield County, was charged with receipt and distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography, the US Attorney for Connecticut said. A Connecticut man who police arrested last year after he allegedly posted a video of himself kissing a child as part of a "social media trend" is facing more charges after police searched his New Haven County home. William L. Gordon, age 45, of Naugatuck, first came to the authorities' attention in Oct. 2023, when he posted a video on social media of him kissing a 10-year-old, Naugatuck Police said.
